Empowering Youth and Future Generations

Libra-Life Mentoring Services Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) focused on using mentorship to benefit young people. Recognizing the specific needs of youth and young adults who have an incarcerated or formerly incarcerated parent, Libra-Life has refined its mission to focus on this underserved population. The organization offers emotional support, guidance, and mentorship through structured meetings, workshops, and individualized mentoring sessions.

Over the years, we've had the honor of collaborating with community partners, including youth empowerment programs, schools, colleges & universities, and the Department of Juvenile Justice. Together, we've provided mentorship, empowerment discussions, and educational information.

Our goal is to touch as many young lives as possible and inspire future generations. Join us in shaping the future and creating positive change for a better world.

Mentorship

Our mentors are passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people and the world. They provide invaluable guidance, support, and expertise to help mentees achieve their full potential, offering a wealth of experience and knowledge to empower and inspire. From academic support to career guidance, our programs are designed to empower youth and young adults in all aspects of their personal and professional development, including:

  • Emotional Support
  • Life Skills
  • Personal Development
  • Career Development
  • Financial Literacy

Comprehensive Programs

We provide a comprehensive array of mentorship programs designed to address the specific needs and interests of our mentees. Our objective is to empower youth and young adults to develop the courage required for healing and forgiveness, as well as to rebuild relationships with estranged parents or to move forward positively. Additionally, Libra-Life encourages young people to advocate for meaningful change and to acquire skills for resolving conflicts without resorting to violence. To support these goals, Libra-Life offers trainings on:

  • Conflict Mediation Skills
  • Leadership Development
  • Policy Advocacy
  • Capacity Building

Personalized Approach

We recognize that every young person is unique, each with their own distinct strengths, challenges, and aspirations. To effectively address these individual needs, we adopt a personalized approach. This involves carefully matching each mentee with a mentor who not only shares compatible interests and values but also possesses the experience and expertise necessary to provide tailored guidance. By developing meaningful mentor-mentee relationships, we ensure that every young person receives the specific support they need to navigate their personal, academic, and professional journeys.
